Whose Rules Should We Follow?

There’s a verse in the good book (Romans 13v8) which says: Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law!” In my perfect world, there would be no need for laws, if we all lived in the State of Love. I’m talking about a legal jurisdiction, like the UK, California or Texas, that kind of State!

The elders would meet and all individuals, companies and corporations would be held to the high standard of LOVE: – To do unto others as you would want them to do to you! To be kind instead of insisting on being your version of what’s right. It may come to an impasse here and there when motives are being established, but when common sense prevailed, all would be well.

Sadly, we don’t live in such a world, well not yet! I believe as the enlightenment grows across the globe and people awaken to the shift that is taking place on an awareness level, the world can and will be like that; but till then, what should we do? I believe that we should live as if there weren’t any laws, except for the Law of Love, and let the legislature deal with the consequences.

And what of those situations when the established laws are those things which are themselves responsible for making people’s lives a misery? Surely laws should be there to protect those unable to do so for themselves; not to harm anyone? I suggest you look at the work of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, even Nelson Mandela to see what kind of actions are appropriate in such circumstances.
