ON BEING A DREAMER
“All men who have achieved great things have been great
dreamers.” – Orison Swett Marden
You don’t have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great! Maybe you don’t have a sense of destiny about your life, maybe you do? I believe we all have a purpose in being here, that there is a reason that you and I showed up in this life!
Others have said that ‘to follow your bliss’ is the most fulfilling life that a person can lead; so what is it that you think about all the time, what is it you would love to achieve? There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love, there’s only a scarcity of resolve to make it happen!
First you have to dream it, to be able to live it! That is what Orison Swett Marden is telling us! Without using our imagination the human race could not have made the advancements in engineering and technology that it has done. Wherever we go in our ‘Western World’ each day we are confronted with the advancements society has made.
Whether we agree that all the people who have achieved great things were originally dreamers, the fact remains that every labour saving device in the home, every street and building, the automobile, the passenger plane, space travel, the personal
computer originated as a thought in someone’s imagination.
What can you make happen in your life and in the lives of those around you by using your imagination? Even if it is just a well thought out birthday surprise for a friend or a member of your family, don’t neglect to use your imagination.
