IF IT’S GOING TO BE IT’S UP TO ME
“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If
you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step
forward, you’re always in the same place.” – Nora Roberts
It’s easy to sit back and blame other people for us not having in our lives what it is that we really want. Maybe in the past you asked a friend or family member to do something for you, they agreed and then forgot about it! After all why apart from showing a kindness, should anyone give priority in doing something for someone else, when each of us has much we could and should be doing for ourselves?
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “If it’s going to be, it’s up to me!” Well that’s the challenge Nora Roberts brings us today! If you and I want something badly enough we have to make the first moves, the second moves, in fact we must do all we can to make something happen if we are serious about having whatever it is in our lives!
If you are already pursuing your dreams, if it’s apparent to everyone that you have already taken action to bring about your own success; then, it is much more likely that other people will want to help you. Even if that is just answering a question and giving you the information that they have and you don’t.
It is of course true to say that if you never ask for help, then the result is the same as getting a answer in the negative. So, if you need help and you are willing to ask there is a 50/50 chance you will get the help you need. Your chances of help will increase, just by asking!
It’s obvious that stepping forward or making moves in the direction of your dreams will advance your cause in a way that remaining where you are can never do! So what steps must you take to advance your cause? What questions have you held back from asking that you will now ask? What have you not pursued that you will now have? Remember, it’s up to you, to make the moves, take the action and live your dreams!
