Are You A Risk Taker?

“Why not go out on a limb? Isn’t that where the fruit is?” – Frank Scully

Do you take risks? Or are you someone who prefers to stay with the familiar? Someone who stays safe, while you watch other people having fun? Of course you tell yourself that the danger they have to embrace to get that fun could kill them and so you are the sensible one.

I’m not suggesting you make plans to go sky-diving if that really isn’t your style, but I want to challenge you to step outside your comfort zone. If you do you’ll see that “you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think!” The juice of life is waiting for you, so reach out and pick that fruit and bite it.

As human beings we have a need to grow, so if you don’t step outside your comfort zone, you will feel unfulfilled and sad. You will seem timid in your own eyes, you will keep telling yourself “I couldn’t do that!” until it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Life is for living you need to step up and step out and grab it with both hands and enjoy!

The more you grow, the more you can grow and when you look back over your life you will be pleasantly surprised at who you have become. Surely this is much better than being unfulfilled and regretting the things you never did? Being willing to go out on a limb may include taken a fall at times, but it’s not how many times that you fall that should concern you it’s how many times you get up again when you fall.
