New Challenges

DARE TO DREAM!

“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already
mastered, you will never grow.” – Ronald E. Osborn

Here’s a challenge for us all from Robert E. Osborn. Ever heard of growing pains, well here we are being encouraged to embrace some new ones! The truth is most people do what they are good at and leave the rest to somebody else, but those who are willing to take on a new challenge are those whose lives and more interesting and possibly more fulfilled.

Have you any unfinished business, anything you’ve thought you
might like to do and yet you’ve never taken any action to make
it happen? Maybe it’s playing a musical instrument, taking up a
new sport or reading some of the books you’ve had sitting on
the shelf since you bought them. If we are forever learning new
things, taking up new challenges you’ll keep experiencing the
same year over and over.

Life is waiting for you to embrace it’s fullness, don’t allow
yourself to be short changed! Take up a new hobby, dare to dream
and then go for it! Who knows where it all might lead, a new
career, new relationships, excitement oh and yes I almost forgot
growing pains too! 🙂

Do You Know Why You Fail?

NEVER QUIT!

“Never walk away from failure. On the contrary, study it carefully and imaginatively for its hidden assets.” – Michael Korda

Do you allow your failures to sadden you? Do you ever walk away from a situation that didn’t work out the way you planned it and despair? Do you say to yourself, “I’ll never attempt that again?” Are you someone who is “once bitten twice shy?”

The reason we fail on the perfect path of life that we are traveling on, is so that we can become wise; so that we can grow and be helpful to others when they face similar situations. In this way the human-race progresses from one generation to another.

I think it was Oscar Wilde who said “If at first you don’t succeed try, try again. But when you’ve tried and tried again give up, you don’t need to become silly about it!” So, learn your lessons, your life lessons, but don’t become obsessed with always winning in the game of life.

Maybe in the past you’ve walked away from failure? Your failures have defined you as a quitter and we all know “Winners never quit, and quitters never win!” So now it’s time to welcome life’s challenges and for you to become someone who wants life to reveal to them, the hidden assets that studying failure will give to you?

Einstein in the class room
Watching time tick by
Asks himself a question
That relativity implies

If by light’s speed I see
The second hand move on
If I watched it quicker
Backwards it would have gone

Einstein in a wooded glade
Looking at the canopy of leaves
Where the sunbeams hit the forest
He enters a daydream

By his imagination
He decides on a sunbeam ride to go
Through millions of light years he travels
In a straight line and now he knows

That space is curved because
He returned to the point he left
Imagination is the tool
That can give answers to our quests

To find out the answers to problems
That are in our lives today
We need new knowledge than what brought us
To the problems that won’t go away

Do You Have An Encourager In Your Life

A True Leader APS Quote

PEOPLE TO VALUE

“Henry Ford could get anything out of men because he just talked
and would tell them stories. He’d never say, ‘I want this done!’
He’d say, ‘I wonder if we can do it.'” – George Brown

It sounds like Henry Ford was a great encourager and leader. A true leader is someone who is a few steps ahead of you, is on the move and inspires your loyalty by the way he or she speaks to you. They let you know they are with you, they don’t send you off on a wild goose chase, and they want you to do well, so they remain with you till you achieve all that their plans were for you to achieve!

Story telling is something I love to do and love to hear, especially if the one telling the story does it with passion. If they can take you with them step by step, keeping your interest until the story reaches its conclusion and that as it ends some wisdom has been imparted to you, which will help you in your life from that moment on.

Do you know anyone who is like Henry Ford, a great story teller and someone who inspires you to follow them, someone who is on your side, that you can depend on? To have someone like that in your life is a real blessing, to have more than one would be wonderful! Amongst others a Life Coach who is worth their salt, should be aiming to be such a character in the life of their clients.

A few steps ahead of you and yet an inspirer who is truly willing you on to success even on the days when you feel like giving up on your dreams. A Life Coach is someone who holds the flag on the top of the hill, till you arrive their, tired and yet exuberant in the achievement of your pre designed goals.

How The Mind Works

Belief or By My Life APS Quote

BELIEF OR BY MY LIFE

“It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And
once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to
happen.” – Claude M. Bristol

This statement seems at best like an over simplification of a much more intricate process; or at worst some positive thinker trying to hoodwink the rest of humanity into cloud cuckoo land. Yet, I believe however incompletely, that Claude M. Bristol has given us a major truth, when understanding the way the mind works.

I would add that merely repeating “There are no weeds! There are no weeds!” will have no effect whatsoever when it comes to successful gardening! Words without action are dead! To affirm something, but then not to take action on that belief, suggests to me that you have little or no conviction that what you have said is true!

Instead of saying “belief” or “I believe” say “by my life!” In other words, by my actions you will be able to see that what I am saying is true! The “you” in what I have just said is not only meant for the onlooker; but also for the one making the affirmation too!  We need evidence that what we say will happen is going to happen, and the best placed person to provide that evidence, is the one who is making the affirmation!

It is true to say that the repetition of affirmations, when stated with passion and certainty of the outcome, will lead to the acceptance of a belief that we haven’t previously held! Our actions to “make it so” start a chain reaction which makes those things we have little or no control of to start to fall into place too.

Who Wants A Simple Life?

AN UNCOMPLICATED LIFE

GETTING IT RIGHT

“You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long
as you don’t do too many things wrong.” – Warren Buffett

I don’t know if you agree with Warren Buffett on this one, but in his opinion life is not that complicated and it’s easier to have a happy fulfilled life than we maybe have been lead to believe. If this statement is correct, we don’t have too much to worry about; life is simply a matter of getting a few important things working properly for us and then as long as we don’t mess up too often, all will be well.

I like the simple life, where everything goes like clockwork and many of us feel if we are left alone to get on with things, we’d do fine. It’s only when our interactions with others seem to challenge us to live differently that we need to reconsider where we’re going.

Whether Warren Buffett’s statement works as a philosophy is worth considering, why not try it out? Even when others challenge
your way of life, be of the opinion that as long as you get the main things in your life right and not many things wrong; then you needn’t be dragged off onto some wild goose chase considering other people’s interactions with you as a challenge to the way you live. They are just living their lives their way and they should be allowed to do that.

If you do decide that you need to change, then do it slowly and deliberately, checking to see what is working and what isn’t. That way you can avoid the big mistakes our quote warns         us of.

If It’s Going To Be, It’s Up To Me!

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MURPHY’S LAW?

“The difference between success and mediocrity is all in the way
you think.” – Dean Francis

How do you think? Are you someone who expects success, or do you expect Murphy’s Law to work against you, every step of the way? Are you an optimist, a pessimist or a realist? I’ll tell you now, I’m an optimist!

W. Clement Stone a personal friend of Napoleon Hill who wrote
“Think and Grow Rich” believed that circumstances were constantly engineering themselves to bless him and his family. When something bad happened to him he would always see it as a blessing in disguise, and he would wonder how this seemingly unpleasant situation would turn out for his good in the end.

When I first read about W. Clement Stone, I thought the guy was at best a little naive, or at worst that he he’d lost the plot; but then I thought it through. To consciously adopt the opposite view to Stone I’d be a fool, it would be like shooting myself in the foot; to imagine that Murphy’s Law was always at work, messing things up for me. “If it can go wrong it will!” didn’t seem to be a great philosophy to live with.

If you say that neither Murphy nor Stone are correct, then in my view what you are left with is mediocrity! You’d be saying,
“Some day’s things go well, some day’s they don’t, hey ho that’s life!” At best there is uncertainty for you, at worst you’ll feel that your life is out of your control, you’ll be holding others responsible for what happens in your life or the circumstances that you are experiencing, instead of knowing the success of thinking “If it’s going to be, it’s up to me!”

UNDERSTANDING HIGGS BOSON

At the centre of the conundrum
That quantum physics is
Lies the Higgs boson
A particle that only may exist

The theory of this beauty
Which was almost seen
In the Cern Accelerator
Giant tunnel’s stream

Is that its short life matters
In a colossal way
Because without it
No mass could be displayed

Like the law of attraction
It brings things together
Until it disappears
Into the twelfth of never

It is the ‘god particle’
The universal glue
That lasts just an eye’s blink
But was the start of me and you

Being Responsible For Your Own Success

CERTAINTY OF SPIRIT

“Success is measured in terms of reaching your goals, dreams, and
expectations. Your success is determined by hard work, persistence, and determination. If you are going to be a success in life, it is up to you… it is your responsibility.” – Will Horton

Are you the kind of person who takes responsibility for your life. In some cases it is impossible for you to control the events that take place in your life, and yet it is entirely possible for you to control your reaction or response to these events and to be responsible for what happens next!

This means that you can also determine your own success! Of course objects can be thrown in your path on the way to the
completing your goals: but if you persist in reaching for your dreams and your determination is never in question; if you are unafraid of hard work, then success will ultimately be yours!

So what are your expectations? We usually get what we expect, rather than what we want! We must make sure we have a certainty in our spirit, a resolve that tells us deep down inside that we are not on some wild goose chase that will end in tears.

We must be assured that when we set off with a goal in mind that we will be successful. That nothing, except possibly ourselves will ever prevent us from achieving the success we have desired!

Enthusiasm and Hard Work

learn-to-balance-a-dream-and-a-job-until-your-dream-becomes-your-job

DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND YOU’LL LOVE WHAT YOU DO!

“I studied the lives of great men and women, and I found that the
men and women who got to the top were those who did the jobs they had in hand, with everything they had of energy and enthusiasm and hard work.” – Harry S. Truman

Harry Truman, 33rd President of the United States, was someone who noticed that those who achieve success within their careers, are those whose attitude to their work was excellent! I can’t imagine how difficult it is to gain promotion within an employment that is something an employee hates doing.

My guess is that the reason success comes to those who receive it
within their employment’ is down to the fact that they are so
fulfilled in what they are doing that it is easy to find the energy, enthusiasm and hard work required to give everything to their work. “Your attitude in life almost always determines your altitude in life!”

If you don’t feel great  about your daily work, then the chances are that you wont go far. I’m sure you’ve heard it said “Find a way of earning money doing what you love and you’ll never have a job again!”
